THE ROLE

To understand all aspects of the company’s product ranges from a technical functioning and installation point of view, allowing the job holder to guide customers in the use and/or installation of those products. Provide inbound telephone technical support for non-basic issues. Ensure that the company complies with all legal requirements for the sales of its products and provide compliance support for the company.

 

PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Understand the design, function and installation of all products supplied by the company to be able to provide technical support and advice when requested.
  • To provide telephone support to colleagues and customers for technical issues beyond the basic levels that can be provided by the internal or external sales teams.
  • Assist the customer service team in dealing with technical queries and quality issues.
  • In extreme cases be able to make on-site inspections and advise corrective actions or authorise replacement products.
  • Maintain and improve the product data sheet information, help create installation guides and work with the Marketing team to promote better understanding of our products.
  • Provide feedback and knowledge to guide future product development or procurement.
  • Create/maintain a central database giving proof of product certification and/or compliance to the required standards.
  • Ensure the company’s compliance to relevant product standards.
  • Be responsible for demonstrating supplier compliance to all aspects of Health & Safety, Corporate Social Responsibility, Environmental Responsibility and similar related issues.
  • Represent the company at meetings of the Bathroom Manufacturers Association technical committee.
  • Compile monthly data relating to product quality for board meetings.
  • Provide technical competitor evaluations and comparisons in conjunction with the Product Manager.
  • Provide technical product training of products for internal customers alongside the Product Manager.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND EXPERIENCE

  • Experience within the bathroom / construction industry essential.
  • An understanding of bathroom products and basic plumbing skills is essential
  • Attention to detail and Excellent communication skills
  • Formal education qualifications will be totally outweighed by technical abilities and relatable skills in plumbing, engineering, product design or QA.
  • Full driving licence

  • Self-motivated, Organized, Confident
  • Able to lift and inspect heavy ceramic pieces
  • Flexible attitude to tasks and duties undertaken, ability to prioritise workload, short notice customer visits may be required
  • Occasional nights away from home are potentially part of the role
